TearOff Products Jumps on Prescott Valley Outdoor Summit

You’ve seen them and maybe you just don’t know it. Ever been watching a NASCAR race on TV and the on-board camera peels off a lense cover to get rid of the bugs and mud for a better view? We are stoked to have TearOff Products on board the 2022 Prescott Valley Outdoor Summit!

Tear Off Products

TearOff Products (TOP) LOVES UTV’s! Here in the mountains of Arizona, TOP is out in the Prescott National Forest and Sonoran deserts down south. UTV’s are an exciting way to “get away”. TearOff Products UTV Windshield TearOffs are 3 layers of protection, designed to save your windscreens and windshields from the harsh and brutal environments encountered on the trail. Rock chips lead to cracks – the nemesis of glass windshields! This bummer can be avoided when you apply a 3 layer stack of TearOffs! Plastic Windscreens are pricey, as much as $500 or more. So, getting scratches, sand pitting, swirls can really screw up a good ride. TearOff Products’ 1+3 layer stack of TearOffsthe same combo used by NASCAR teams – will protect that windscreen for months of mud, brush, blowing sand and flying rocks!

Windscreen Protection for:
• Mud Sloggin
• Hunters Traveling Through Heavy Brush
• Construction Managers Job Site
• Desert Adventures
• Seniors Dodging Harmful UV Sunlight

Check them out this September at the 2022 Prescott Valley Outdoor Summit in BOOTH #45 ! Special thanks to Mike Johns of TearOff Products. You rock dude!

Monsoons and Flash Floods: Video

In the TOPO Talk blog post just before this one, “Weather Source for Trip Planning…” we talked about the US National Weather Service, Flagstaff, AZ. being a great source for those unfamiliar with central and northern Arizona weather and terrain. We touched on monsoons and flash floods, recommending to avoid low lying areas and dry creek beds when monsoons are active and prevalent in your region. Here’s a great example as to why:

Special thanks to Arizona Game and Fish for capturing and share this. An amazing event to witness.

Weather Source for Trip Planning and Off Roading in Northern Arizona

If you visiting from out of town, or simply are looking for a solid weather source for your excursion planning up here in central and northern Arizona, you may want to check out the US National Weather Service – Flagstaff, AZ. Both their website and Facebook Page are updated daily. And, that’s a great thing, especially during our monsoon season up here. Don’t forget, flash flooding is a big deal in Arizona, and quite common. Don’t get complacent, especially if you’re roaming through canyons and low lying areas. Roving through dry creek beds is not recommended (like the jeep in the dry creek bed in the featured image) during our monsoon seasons here if there are monsoons in the region. A rain storm miles away could flood your dry creek bed without warning. Here’s a great example of this phenomenon that occurred just this week! >>

Check out the latest weather and monsoon activity from the US National Weather Service – Flagstaff, AZ., below. Have a great time exploring Arizona!

Below is a sample of this info from the July 15, 2022 weather outlook from our friends at US National Weather Service – Flagstaff, AZ.

July 15: Fire Restrictions Lifted in Prescott National Forest

Effective Friday, July 15, 2022, at 8:00 am, Yavapai County and Prescott National Forest will rescind all fire restrictions.

Mary Mallory, Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Chair, worked with the Yavapai County Emergency Manager, local forest services, and fire professionals, to discuss the current fire danger and, at this time, have determined that it is appropriate to remove fire restrictions that were implemented in May.

Yavapai County Emergency Manager Ashley Ahlquist said, “There has been an increase in precipitation within the County. Prescott National Forest has seen anywhere from 0.66” to 4.66” throughout the forest. In addition to the increased precipitation, the forecast for continuing rain in the coming weeks and the moderating fire indices support rescinding the restrictions.”

This determination includes the following Fire Ordinance Zones: Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern Zones of Yavapai County, which include the following cities and towns; Prescott, Prescott Valley, Dewey- Humboldt, Mayer, Cordes Junction, Black Canyon City, Congress, North Wickenburg, Peeples Valley, Yarnell, Wilhoit, Cottonwood, Sedona, Camp Verde, and unincorporated areas herein.

Chair Mallory said, “We recognize the inconvenience of imposing these restrictions in our communities, but I appreciate everyone who worked hard to protect our local forests and homes. The fire danger within Yavapai County is a significant concern, and we appreciate your efforts to protect our great County.”

Know Before You Go!

Visitors are asked to remain vigilant and avoid activities that could accidentally cause wildfires – refrain from campfires on dry and windy days and remember that it is always illegal to leave a campfire unattended. In addition, fireworks are never permitted on any National Forest land.

Statewide fire restriction information can be found at https://wildlandfire.az.gov/fire-restrictions. The map shows current fire restrictions on federal and state-managed lands in Arizona and New Mexico.

For information on the Prescott National Forest, check out the Prescott NF website and following us on Facebook and Twitter.
